    I am looking for software that will convert vob to mpg.
    Also, all the vob files that make a movie are in one directory per movie. Is there a program that will convert all that is in the directory to a mpg movie?

    VOBs consist mainly of mpg video, so there's no conversion needed. ReJig is one of many apps that can demux the mpg out of a (series of) VOB(s)

    And if you want separate video and audio streams, Vobrator.

    Otherwise try renaming the FILENAME.VOB file to FILENAME.MPG. Then open and edit. This doesn't work with all apps, but many will open it as-is
