Ok, I am fairly competent when it comes to ripping and converting dvds to other formats, but their is one thing I have not been able to do, I have never been able to find a decent program to take and convert from .vob to .mpg without transcoding the video, all I want it to do is to remove the vob headers and restore it back to a standard .mpg without recoding the video, I want to do this because I do not want to lose any quality from the original video, the dvds are personal dvds (no encryption), anyone know of a program that will do this???

    Please help!

  3. The one I use all the time is:

    MPEG Video Wizard https://www.videohelp.com/tools/MPEG_Video_Wizard

I've used it more than once to reauthor a DVD if I did not have the original files that I had used to create a DVD for a client. You add the VOBs (in order on the time line) and it will generate the MPEG (no recoding as long as you do not try to do any editing). It's always done a great job for me. It is not free.

I haven't used it, but you might try:

    VOB2MPG https://www.videohelp.com/tools/VOB2MPG

It is free and should do what you are wanting it to do. I'm sure that are others out there that many have had good and bad experiences with.
