  1. my sister sent me a video of our family reunion - however it is in synch at the beginning but within 10 mins is out of synch and gets farther out of synch as it goes on. if i hit pause and then play on my phillips 642 then it is in synch again but will go out of synch in the same fashion. any way to fix this?

  2. What are you watching ... an AVI, MPG, VCD, SVCD, DVD?

  3. sorry thought i put xvid in the post

have her send you the source files she made the vidoe from -- or have her compress it to another format ...

well who made it ? ask for a better copy -- it is your family after all ..

you can fix it maybe by de-mux and remux , but if it is truly out of sync , you will have to fix the audio and remux it ..

transcoding format like xvid just reduces its quality ..

who would put a family reunion on a xvid file anyway ?

99 times out of 100 nowadays they make a dvd

AS I SAID - SHE HAS WHAT I HAVE, DONT GIVE THE SAME ADVICE TWICE WHEN IT HAS ALREADY BEEN TOLD TO YOU THAT SHE HAS WHAT I HAVE.

I LOADED IT UP IN VDUB AND FULLPROCESSED THE VIDEO AND AUDIO AND FIRST GLANCE LOOKS OK - HAVE TO WATCH THE WHOLE THING TO BE SURE. THIS WAS MY IDEA SO THANKS FOR SUGGESTED IT AFTER I SAID IT.

I KNOW THAT BUT IF THE ONLY THING ANYONE HAS IS THIS XVID BECUZ THE TAPE GOT MESSED UP - I GOT TO DO WHAT I GOT TO DO.

WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE - SHE DID IT AND I DONT NEED YOU THE QUESTION THAT FACT. I POSTED THIS TO GET HELP NOT TO BE MADE TO FEEL STUPID!!!!!!

99 times out of 100 nowadays they make a dvd
SHE DID IT AT HOME TO GET THE PICTURES AND THE MOVIE ON ONE DVD.

*NOW THAT YOU KNOW MY WHOLE FAMILY STORY (WHICH IN NO WAY IS NEEDED TO ANSWER MY QUESTION) - I HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER. NONE OF THIS WAS NEEDED BUT YOU ADDRESSED THIS STUFF INSTEAD OF THE QUESTION ABOUT HOW TO FIX IT.

well first you obviously don't understand that multiplexing and transcoding are two different things not remotely related ... because nowhere above did you mention multiplexing ..
so don't be so snotty ...

secondly, most normal people like to learn from their mistakes or at least avoid them in the future. hence he suggestion to put it on a DVD in the future - or at least something that is more industry standard.

third - you don't videotape to xvid, so someone has the dv of the thing before obviously badly converting it to xvid ..... hence why i suggested asking for the source material , which is a logical and rational solution if they are indeed "family" films...

fourth - don't start yelling at a moderator, or even another member here, when all they are trying to do is help you..

so kid, please grow up ...

    thanks.
