Ive burned around 100 DvD's in the past year its very rare that I have one not play properly on one of my DvD players. But when I lend them out people say that the get half way thru and it freezes up or no sound.I use PPro1.5 & Encore 1.5 and my burner is an HP 300i and I only use TDK+R DvD's.Any suggestions??

+R isn't the most compatible format, even with set top players that support it...sometimes their support isn't 100%.
-R is the best choice if you plan to loan them out to friends.
If it isn't that then it is an authoring or shrinking issue, but from my experince +R can be like that with players. -
I did notice that the only time I had a problem on one of my players was when I used DVDshrink and did some heavy shrinking is that what you mean.

Do you mean like skipping problems? That could be from damage to the disk. If you labeled the disks, and I know this sounds funny, but it has been suggested that the added weight of the label will offset the disk in such a way that it skips. It may play better in certian dvd players, it all depends on the specific design.

i don't know about you but when i burn dvd-r's, my movie skips every like 10-15 mintues on my standalone. I don't think my dvd player plays dvd+r but i burnt one with bitsetting and it worked perfectly. Have you tried bitsetting the dvd+r to dvd+rom (if your burner supports it)? It increases the comptaibility and therefore can have a higher compatability than dvd-r.

I had the same thing happen with me with +R's. I had two discs with identical content, a +R and a -R. The +R skipped right from the begining in the DVD player but the -R played flawlessly.
Same thing with a few other people. -
so it's up to your own player to what it likes, but i would recommend using dvd+r's, bitsetted to dvd-rom, although i'm still using my dvd-r's, i still have a whole batch, about 35 left
