  1. I've gotten some complaints, very few really, from clients not being able to play DVD's I've burnt. Hopefully someone might be able to tell me if I'm doing something wrong or not.

I export projects out of FCP4 using Quicktime Conversion to mpeg-2 and AIFF's. Field order is set to Auto, I use One Pass VBR with the target Bitrate at 5.5Mbps and the Max Bitrate at 7.0

I then use DVDSP1.5 to lay in Chapter markers and burn at 4x using Ritek discs. Sometimes I use the built in burner on my G5. Other times I use my Pioneer DVR-105

From the best of my knowledge this is a correct procedure for the best quality DVD using what I have available.

If there is anything someone can tell me to improve my situation, that's be awesome. All I really want those is some feedback.

    Thanks a lot

Ritek/RiData media are generally very compatible, but not 100%. When compatibility really matters, I'd suggest burning at 1x speed, and using Taiyo Yuden, the best quality DVD-R media available. It's more pricey than Ritek media, but is also the most compatible DVD-R media. Other brands of media are not worth your time, as they are all less compatible.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

  3. Yeah, I figured that it couldn't be a disc problem. I have no need to make sure that a single disc plays, it's more about the majority of them playing fine.

    Thanks for the response.
