I figure I would share my story as an English teacher (My popularity ain't up there with Northcat_8 but someone might care)
As in any counrty, the way education is done is pretty different. Here, they have English schools and Japanese come to them to study as a hobbie and not really education. If a proper education (College) where a restaurant, then you would be eating a 5 course meal at some fancy restaurant. However, most chain-schools are what we like to call the McDonalds (fast food) of the English teaching world.
My schools are five star :P :P :P
Anyway, long story short...5 years ago I had a 17 year old high school girl stalker. Cute too...I have morals, but that wasn't the reason I didnt persue anything. 20 is the age of consent...and I was just about to turn 20. Besides, I didn't wanna get in any trouble having just come to Japan.
It became such a problem I approached the owner of the school about it. Who then scolded her for it. Later...she was waiting angerly near the subway station (One she doesn't take but I do). She looked at me excepting words to come out of my mouth and I said nothing (So as not to get into trouble) and she took off.
Since then, I have had one more stalker. BUT...thats another story if people wanna hear about it.
PS. I am not at all a GREAT looking guy...just your average Joe. Must have been the mustard stain in my pre-mature beared.

You're a better man than me. 20 years old, single, being stalked by a cute 17-year-old. I would have given in to temptation

gll99,
Yeah, English is a tough language. I think I might take some lessons myself. I always type mistakes. and spelling is tough...BUT that's not the focus of most lessons it's more grammar and colloquial English. If I run into a word I can't remember to spell (we all have them) I always say "OK...time to crack open those dictionaries!!" I was also heavily medicated at the time of writing the post(Sleep problems) SO...if I seem erratic at time
s...hehehe...
As for the first stalker. I didn't do anything because I could've been fired and outta money so on and so forth. Plenty of other young ladies that were available at the time. HOWEVER...the second stalker was kinda scary, but in a sense I deserved it. I was in a bad relationship and living with a my girl. I had another on the side (First time I ever cheated) and felt like shit about it. 2 weeks later, I broke it off...and she tried on several occasions to follow me home, calling late at night. It was freaky...but it stopped.
I wish a porn star could stalk me!!SmileSmile

Damn it. I need to move to Japan. Now what to do with the wife and kid...
Actually, you automatically have "cool" points. I'm assuming you're white. I'm as Japanese as an American can get, so I always get mistaken for a native, when I travel there. You have to see their eyes, when perfect English comes out of my mouth. -
mrtristan,
When I first got here 5 years ago, there was the automatic coolness of being a foreigner. However that has changed. I used to get people (Cuties included) looking at me, smiling, trying to say hello...it was great. Now...we're everywhere so people are used to it. Things are becoming more and more bilingual. Restaurants provide English menus, stations announce in English and other languages.
So...the coolness has worn off and only the skanks come after us. BUT if you go into the country side, you get the COOLNESS back. I went about 3 hours north of where I live and people were bowing to me as they passed, like a whole new world.SmileSmile

I mean what's the worst that could have happened? They export you back to the US? Seems like a win-win to me.
I get girls who flirt with me, and I have a flirty personality anyway...and while we will agree that all p**sy is good...it's not so good that it's worth going to jail over. Besides, my wife frowns on me having girlfriends...which I can't quite understand because she, herself was once a girlfriend...I would think they would have a lot in commonGo figure.

I couldn't be a teacher. I have no morals and a flirty personality

I think it would could be a problem maybe if I were younger...early 20's and if I didn't have a son who was 17. Dating girls the same age as your son would be kind of weird. Besides, when you were 15 looked at 17-18 year old senior girls as older and more experienced, at age 35 you don't want girls, you want women who know what they want, how they want it and by god are going to get it from you like that even if it takes all nightBesides....girls in HS still have curfews

On that note, a 17 yr old who DOES know what she wants is prolly a skank anyway. It may be the vodka talking, but I will say it anyway, I am 26 and my lady is 34...she looks 20. I would post a picture if it were not for the fear of it being turned into something else (and getting ME into trouble)
Edit: She knows what she wants...I just wish I knew what she wantedSmileSmile

Wasn't the age of consent just recently changed to 20?
His name was MackemX
What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend? -
It was changed to 20 about the time I got to Japan 5 years ago. It was because school girls were always being approached by men (Old men) for sex. AND, since most of them had strict parents who wanted their children focused on school and not on clothes and such, most went for it. Girls could get 100 bucks just for their panties (Men actually walk up to girls and say "I will give you 10,000 yen for your panties?" HELL...I would give up my shorts for that much money. SO...they raised the age to 20. By this time they are in college and also working part time making cash.
This doesn't stop the trend though...I could go on...but I have to look at porn nowSmileSmile

I hear you on the age thing. When I was a boy..then a girl was OK, until I experienced a woman...my girlfriend's mother (I should say ex-girlfriend but it didn't happen in that order)... From that night on, no girls for Northcat, give me a full grown woman age 28-45 anyday...besides the "skill" level. Older women aren't clingy and can keep a "**** buddy" relationship in perspective...they know the difference between love and lust.
