dvd lab intro movie prob.

here the prob.

i was doing a dvd authoring using dvd lab.

i want: first play when playing the dvd : intro movie about 15 sec.
then automaticaly jump to the welcome menu
then button link to the key pad pass protected menu
4 menu for keypad( as clearly explain in some tutorial)
then if pass good --) jump to secret area menu
if pass wrong --) jump to keypad pass protected menu
when on the secret area menu , button link to the movie.

so i have tried many several time this kind of author , and i have found many prob.

some simply dont want to start
some play the intro and freeze while link to the welcome menu
some bad image linking to the keypad menu.

i have tried many way without excellent result.

if anyone can help , here a pics of my connection screen in dvd lab;



maybe someone will find a bad connection or something.

i have succesfully made a dvd BUT WITHOUT the intro movie. so im sure the keypad menu are good and the welcome and secret area also.

so it may coming from the intro link .

another wild prob. i found , it 's that i have burn a dvd and the result was that it was no sound in it????

my mpeg-2 file was working great (with sound) before burning it .

so what happen ??? also in one dvd that the menu working and the sound too , im getting some freezing frame many times???

here the proggies i was working with

tmpgenc for encoding
dvd lab for authoring
dvd lab writer to burn
lg dvd writer
blank dvd (no name on it )

i know it is a very large question , but any help will be much appreciated.

i think i found the prob. for the freezing frame.

many people having prob. with blank dvd with white label with no name....

well, cheap price but cheap result.

maybe i will try some more good dvd-r .

but can this cause the dvd authoring problem ????

OK - you seem to have a number of problems, so let's start at the top.

1. Does your intro movie play on your PC ?
2. Does the compiled DVD play on your PC ?
3. If you author a DVD with just the intro movie, does it play in a settop player ?

The picture is too small to be able to confirm the linkages for the keypad, but the main connectiosn look OK.

As for the sound - what type of audio are you using ?

If you are using DVD Lab standard, then you only have one VTS to play with. You should make sure that all your audio is the same type and bitrate (eg. 192khz 2channel AC-3). If you mix and match audio tyeps or rates, some players may have problems - like not playing some audio.

And finally - yes, cheap disks can screw up a good author - the stuttering you are getting may be caused by this.

i think i have solved many of my prob. , first using a good blank dvd-r.

second i also check out my link .

i have tried another dvd and now i have sound(not the same movie but..)

i always encode my movies with tmpgenc (dvd standard video and audio)

so i think the audio is .mpa 48.0 khz 384 kbps stereo.(when dvdlab demux it).

and yes my menu dvd and intro works in my pc.

another weird prob , is that i have successfully start 1 dvd just 1 time and it got audio . i try it again in my pc , now no audio .and my dvd player(home) cannot play it again.?????

heer another DUMB prob. im modifiying my project , but how the hell you can delete some movie or menu . maybe a dumb question but i cannot find how???

Highlight it in the left hand tree view and hit the del key.

Poor media can produce inconsistant read results like the ones your are descibing (works once, but not next time, works in one device but not another)

Have you done a read test in the burned disks, just to be sure ? Try DVDInfoPro and see how you go.
