  1. im using dvd shrink and alcohol 120 to burn and copy. I started haveing trouble with my back up getting to the closing disk part and then i get a burn error. i have tried a few different disk , right now im using maxell dvd-r. I tried an dvd rw and it works and as soon as i put in a dvd-r it say burn error.

    i tried an phillips dvd-r and some will burn and some will not. I have not had any trouble out of my amxell disk untill now so i dont know if the burners going out or a bad lot of disk. I was baking up man on fire. any ideal would help alot thanks

    You could check your manufacturers website for a firmware upgrade for the drive.

    Also, try burning at lower speed. I often burn 4x disks at 2.4x for better-quality-burns.

    If you are a smoker you need to clean your burner once in a while with commercially available tools.
