I've got an A05 and a Liteon163. If I replace the 163 with a new A08, can I have Nero burn two disks at the same time?

if both the a05 and a08 are on the same ide controller then you could run into some problems. try it out and see what happens. use a dvdrw in each drive.

Nero will in fact allow you to burn multiple DVD's simultaneoulsy. Nero is the only proggy I have found so far stable in doing this too. I have four Pioneer AO7's on 2 IDE channels, config'd as Master/Slave, and I burn 4 different movies at the same time quite often, I limit burn speeds to 4X, and I use 4 WD250 SATA harddisks to do this. I use an Asus PC-DL deluxe Mobo with Dual Xeons, I have seen many different configs which worked with two DVD Burners. Mine is the only machine I have heard of with Four. I have tried more than one DVD Burner pulling from one drive, this seems to run the buffer down, so my suggestion is one harddrive per DVD burner. Next I am gonna go for 6 DVD Burners and 6 Harddrives on SATA add-On cards - Information Belongs To The World! - compbuilders2002-

Are you just opening multiple occurances of Nero and having each one burn seperately or are you sending the information from one occurance in Nero to the multiple drives using Nero's 'use multiple burners' feature?

"use multi burners"
I've done it with CDs before, worked greatWant my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Works fine just open nero start burning with 1 drive then open nero again and choose other drive . the drive you are already burning with will have a red x on it so obviously u cant use that drive.

I've never used the "mutliple burner" option but I believe that each of your burners will be capped at the speed of the slowest burner.

I've done it with two cd burners in the past also - I don't see any reason why you couldn't do it with DVD burners as well. I guess the smart0burn or whatever it's called would kick in and lower the write speed if your machine started to labour.
If in doubt, Google it. -
I have three external firewire Drives. All Identical. Choose "Multiple Burners " and then shift click and choose the drives you want to use. Works great for burning duplicates. I shoot and produce Videos for customers - all subjects - That way I can produce multiples quickly without having to buy a dedicated duplicating tower. My Sony DRU-530ul firewire drives sell for like $160 now so three drives is much cheaper than a duplicator at least as of a while ago. I;ve had them for a while and are updated to the latest FW. Dupe towers are coming down in price however. I can burn 3 duplicate DVDs in less than 9 minutes.
I have not tried burning two different movies as of yet. If I am doing common backups of my DVD movies, I'm not in that much of a hurry to take a chance with a bad burn due to two instances of Nero burning two files from two locations of my HD. I think that might be a bit too much to ask.No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
I use Alcohol120% to burn multiple disc simultaneosly. With nero if you select more than 2 drives it sais you need to buy another license. I have never been able to find info online for that.
With Alcohol120 I just make an image and burn 3 at a time. I was using 2 Sony 530's and a dru500, but now I have my Dru500a, Pioneer 108 and Nec 2510 burning. Each drive burns at different speeds and complete at different times due to the speed variance. I have done 40 DVDs in a night for my daughters cheer team without problems.
If anyone knows the nero answer about more than two drives at a time, let me know. Because I am looking to add 2 more drives in the near future. By the way 2 drives are connected in series via firewire, the next 2 will probably be usb 2.
