I recently purchased a 25 pack of Fujifilm +R's from OfficeMax. Normally I use Maxell but I needed a "cheap add-on purchase" to get a free shipping deal on another item. I suspected they would be 2.4X and probably Made In Taiwan. I figured for $17 I could live with it.
Well, they are 2.4X but burn at 4X in my Plextor 708A. What surprised me was that they are stamped Taiwan on the disc but the media code is RICOHJPN. So where are they actually made?, and is the Made In Taiwan thing always a "bad thing".

From what I've read, the RICOHJPN's are made in Taiwan by Ritek.
I usually stick with MXL and TY myself, but I think the RICOHJPN are fantastic discs as well. So maybe 'made in Taiwan' isn't always bad.
