  1. I'm using Ulead VideoStudio 7 (Full Version) to edit down a honeymoon video. I have several transitions where my clips have the audio fade out, and then in to the next clip. However, I find that when I render the project out to DVD, instead of fully fading out, the audio fades out completely, and then pops back up to full strength for a quarter of a second or so before the clip is completed and the next clip starts. It does not do this when editing or previewing through the browser, only in my exported DVD files. Any ideas?

Also, I'm noticing that when transitioning between chapters in a finished DVD, for a fraction of a second the image flashes back to somewhere near the beginning of the chapter that I'm leaving before moving onto the chapter that I'm in. Again, it does not do this when I'm editing.

This is very frustrating, especially since my video is edited to my liking. It's a shame that these imperfections ruin the entire thing.

Any thoughts as to why I'm having these problems, or how I can fix them?

    Thanks,
    Kenneth

  2. I should add here that I'm creating my DVD's through the DVD wizard in Ulead VS7. I am not rendering my mpeg's out beforehand, but rather adding VS7 Project Files into the DVD wizard and having it render when outputting the DVD.

I find that this would be easier because I can adjust the bitrate quality of the clips to fit my video on a DVD without then having to re-render the clips to fit the space of the DVD.

But, could this be causing my problems? Would it be better to render out each chapter as an mpeg file? That would seem to make it difficult to adjust the quality settings vs. space on the DVD. I'd hate to have to take an MPEG file that's rendered at 8000 kbps and have VS7 have to re-render it at 7500 kbps because it won't fit. There would seem to be a quality issue there.

Incidentally, is there a way to make the DVD wizard automatically adjust the bitrate to take maximum space capability on the DVD? For instance, if I can achieve a bitrate of 7592 kbps to fill up all of the space on the DVD, automatically adjust my movie to that?

    Thanks,
    Kenneth
