I remember LordSmurf commenting on the magnetic field emitted by this recorder a while bacl. Well mine just arrived and am wondering wether its ok to have it stacked on top of my 9800.. will the magnetics interfere at all?

Not familiar with that note or the unit, but usually the bottom of electronic units are made of steel that effectively cancels out electromagnetic effects. If in doubt, just add a little spacing as the magnetic field is usually limited by distance.

My machine has a distinct magnetic field on it, on the bottom front right side. I saw this on both the DRM1S and my current DRM10SL.
I put the 9800 on top of the DRM10SL. The bottom item in the stack is the JVC recorder.
I would NEVER put this recorder on top of a tv set, on a speaker, or on a VCR. I see this on items from time to time. Another recorder had it, I forget which one at this point.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
