I have a demuxed MPEG-2 stream, which I would like to mux into one file.

    Partial answers possible ... .

    1. Question.
When I use mplex, I use the option "-f 8" (for DVD). Why is it required that an MPEG-2 stream needs to know if the muxed file is for DVD, VCD or SVCD, requires data like VBV and more?

    2. Question(2).
When I use mplex, and make a PVAStrumento "Scan", I get the following error after I muxed using mplex:

    Code:
    ALERT> -71583 video frames missing at 00:47:42.904.
    ALERT> Dropping GOP for sync.
          Re-syncing.
          Closing starting GOP.
    ALERT> 71583 video frames missing
This is probably due to a cut in the source.
    ALERT> Dropping GOP for sync.
          Re-syncing.
          Closing starting GOP.
          Aiming for sync at 00:47:43.864
          Cutting audio.
When I use bbmpeg for muxing, the error doesn't show up.

    - Any idea why this is?
    - Is there any other muxing tool other than mplex or bbmpeg?
    - Is there any tool which allows analysing an MPEG-2 stream in detail (timecodes, flags, VBV, ...)?

    Thanks a lot!

... no answers so far ...

    Let's formulate it differently.

Is there any MPEG-2 program stream muxing tool out there, apart from TMPGEnc, bbmpeg and mplex?

    TIA
