Well as i have read, i see other people have had tray problems on there R200 and 300 ..... nothing was said if there was a fix or not unless i missed it among all the reading. I am wondering if anyone had this idea yet. I was thinking about getting something that is sticky, like hair spray ... i am thinking hair spray is sticky ... maybe it is not. But anyways get something sticky and putting just a little bit on that front clear plastic piece on the tray. I am wondering if this will help or mess up the printer ?
Oh my problem is that when the DVDR is about to print it dont go pulled in all the way and i have to give it a knudge to catch on the wheels. So far it isnt a real critical issue. Just looking for a fix.
I am seen in other posts that putting the tray feeder up and running paper through the printer manually will fix it, this worked for me for one disk, but then started to fail after that.

I can't say I've had any problems with the tray on my R200, although I am going to try and get a spare out of them some time since it looks a bit susceptible to accidental damage to me.
I would be hesitant about applying anything to the tray (especially the clear bit at the front) in case it messes up the calibration of the tray when it loads. Also, the rollers should grip the tray firmly - are you sure you've dropped the loader properly and not just "flicked it down" ? If they're not gripping the tray then I would say there is something more wrong with the printer than it being a bit limp in the grip department. -
Make sure your tray is inserted underneath the lip on the fold down dvd/cd door. Also, make sure your arrows line up correctly.

No fix yet for this problem. I am on my 3rd R200 from Epson and same fricking thing!! I'm thinking about maybe using some sand paper and roughing up the bottom of the tray where the rollers spin on the tray to draw it in.

I'm another person with the tray issue. After printing the first 3 or 4 hundred dvds, it started having the issue of not pulling the tray (and meeting a little resistance at the rollers). If I gently nudge it as it's trying to pull the tray in, it works most of the time. Every so often though, it goes and pulls the tray in TOO far, and I actually have to yank the tray out to the back and re-feed it. Happens too often for my taste, but I put up with it since the printed results are awesome.

First thing the R200 does, is kick the tray out a bit. That was OK when it was new, but now, I have to put a slight pressure on the tray, or less it does not get pulled back in.
Does this sound similar to anyone else's experiences? -

Just some guessing though without seeing a bad one, the acutal problem could be about anything.. -
Starting to have this problem too...But mine exits and i get the paper jam error...I also have a problem with the DVD insert paper not feeding, they just won't go in. I have to push on the sheet for it to go in...Epson support isn't very helpful either contacted them and they gave me an half-baked awnser about paper thickness....They will probably do the same about tray issues...

I had mine kick the tray out through the back. Jeepers!!!
They didnt design this printer for continuous use of the tray though. So, I guess if you don;t like nudging in the tray, return it or buy a new one. -
I returned my first two r200s before I decided that "nudging" was part of the drill. I also had a problem lining up the feeder correctly until I put two small dots of "white-out" on the tips of the arrows (tough lining up a black arrow you can hardly see).

I line up my arrows and it doesnt help at all ..... it pulls in slightly and then stops ... i knudge it and it then goes in all the way.
The only time i get it where it will feed all the way through the back is when the rollers are going and the head of the ink is cleaning itself .... i dont even push the tray in when it is doing that, i wait for the red light on the printer .... line up the arrows and then hit the red button.
Wait for it to pull it in and then it works and doesnt feed all the way through.
This is just a idea but i think i know why it stops from pulling it in all the way, i think it is because the oil from the ink gets on the tray and then on the rollers and when it first pulling the tray in it just slides. -
I suffered the exact same problems, my tray was ******* shit.
I sent it back last week, another arrived in 72hrs and it's perfect, loads as it should now.
The plastic nibs seem harder than they were on the last, maybe they improved the design.

Cost me £1.40 to send it back, I could live with that although had I ben in the wrong frame of mind Epson would have been made to pay for it, it was a fault after all.
If it happens again it'll be going back again.
