  1. I've been creating an iMovie project and can't seem to export the files as MPEG2 using QuickTime Pro ( how do I do that anyway? I've got the MPEG2 component...)
So I can export the iMovies as a .dv file using QuickTime.
I don't have a SuperDrive, so can I use Sizzle to create a Video_TS folder using the .dv file as a source?

My instint tells me yes but Murphy's law tells me. "Ha! Life should be so easy!"

Any info appreciated, except the Murphy bit..

No, You cannot...You have to encode Your .dv files to MPEG2 first...Since You dont have the Superdrive, iDVD will not help You either, so maybe You should consider some shareware GUI apps like ffmpegX or MPEG2Works for encoding to MPEG2 and making DVD VIDEO_TS folder or burnable DVD image file...I dont know does the Toast 6 encodes and makes VIDEO_TS folder without Superdrive...Check on their web site...You can navigate to Versiontracker.com or Macupdate.net and do a search for the app which will help You and then make Your choice...

Thanks for the info. I have those other apps and will try to encode to MPEG2 with one of them.

  4. I use both FFMpeg X and MPEG2Works often to create DVDs, but wanted to mention MMT EZ for its ease of use. Just select the imovie referrence file and go. Leran more about it here. Not the same quality as the other two, but great for quick and dirty conversions.

Thanks for the link. Quick and Dirty is often the way to go...
I'll give it a try to see how it works.

I've already used MPEG2Works to encode my project from .dv to MPEG2 and sizzle to burn and am up and running.
Thanks, also, to Serbian, for the advice.
