Within the last few weeks i have been converting all of my old home videos over to my computer so that i can put them on a DVD. Each file is around 700-800MB and are MPEGs. I thought i would surely be able to get at least 4 or 5 movies onto each dvd, though when i tried (through Roxio 6) i was only able to get 2 of my home movies on.
I personally dont understand why it did this, so i came on here to find out. Also i would like to know of any programs that i can use to make dvds with possibly more movies on each.
Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to offer.

I use TMPGEnc DVD Author for this. It also allows you to create menus and chapter points.
If they are too big you can run them through DVD Shrink to get more on one disc. -
At 700MB you should be able to fit 6 of your films per disc. I mean 700MBx6=4200MB which should be fine. Maybe Roxio is re-encoding your sound to PCM? Not sure because I never use Roxio software, but you're right, you should be able to fit far more than 2.

Hello,
If your using Roxio dvd builder it will take more space to make dvds. I'm not sure why but if you choose rough draft mode you'll fit more on it.
My suggestion is to get another program like Ulead DVD Movie Factory or Tmpgenc Dvd Author. Both will leave your movie as is if it's dvd compliant (some do weird things behind the scenes, like Matt_D suggested it might be converting the audio??).
Ulead will work great, and it's pretty fast. TDA is also good. Shop around and see which you like. The value you get these days is excellent as far as the features you get.
