  1. I didn't really know where to put this cause I don't know what the source of the problem is but here goes.

When playing my homemade DVD in my DVD-player, the video/audio is choppy whenever I jump to a chapter. But if I fastforward only for a second it's fine after. And playing it from the start is completely fine. Playing it on my 2 different computers: no problems.

Tried 3 dvds with different speeds, all with the same result. Could this be a problem with my player? Or problem with authoring/encoding? It is a PAL dvd authored in Encore and the main timeline is encoded in tmpgenc. This is a DVD that I'm going to pass out and I don't want it to be like this on the other peoples player, if it was for just me I wouldnt care.

    My dvd-player is a Samsung BD-C5500.

Run one of the VOB files through MediaInfo or GSpot and post the results....without that everything would be a guess.

    Do you mean the mpeg-file?

  4. He means the VOB files. DVD video has the extension VOB, as opposed to the IFO and BUP files DVDs also have.

That's a strange one. Nothing looks out of the ordinary to me. I know nothing about Encore but you say you encoded with TMPGenc? What did you author the DVD with? I know new versions of TMPGEnc "do it all" now....so you probably authored with TMPGEnc as well....just trying to narrow it down a bit.

The username "euroboy" wasn't a clue for you? Also, Encore is the authoring program.

euroboy, how did you map the chapters? Also, how big are your GOPs?

  10. Yes Encore was the authoring program.

I'm at a friends house right now and I tried a disc on his PS3 and it worked so it might be my dvd-player, could upscaling do this?

GOP sorry I don't know right now, I never touched those numbers, I remember something like 5 and 13 or something maybe(?)
I imported my tmpgenc encoded mpeg (first edited in premiere) into Encore and created a timeline and on that timeline I added chapters, if thats what you mean.

Well, maybe... but you'll have to get a note from your mommy saying that it is okay with her.

  13. lol drama!

Anyway I fixed it. I think there was some problem with the mpeg2, too many conversions. I didn't know frameserver existed for cs5 so when I found out I reencoded the premiere-project with frameserve directly to procoder 3 and used that mpeg in encore instead. And it worked. Took some extra hourse though :/

    Thanks for the help though!
