i am trying to convert an avi file to dvd format using this guide http://www.donstevenson.net/myguides/myguides.html

however when i get to step 7 i am told that the output directory should contain a file with a *.vaf extenson and a file with a *.mpv extension but all i get is a MPEG Video file.

can some1 please tell me where or what i am doing wrong and how i can fix it?

  2. Well a mpv file is mpeg video file, without audio, and the vaf file is like a first pass analysis file (I think). You could probably continue with the mpeg file. Is it a m2v file you have or a mpg that is in your folder?

May I suggest using DVD2SVCD, it can do avi to dvd, another program to look at is The Film Machine, each is a lot more automated for a newbie. While it still uses the great CCE to encode.
    Blah, blah, blah
