  1. I would like to make one Mpeg2 file from a DVD so I can edit it.

If I use DVD Decrypter I have to do stream processing. I get two files. The first file contains the video (mpeg2). The second file (*.VOB) contains the audio.

What parameters do I have to set in order to get one file (for the video and the sound)?

    Thanks,
    Joost

    You're a bit confused.

.VOB files are mpeg2 system streams - video AND audio.

Why do you "have to" do stream processing?

  3. i believe you are trying to demux the streams. highlight each selected stream seperately and click demux. the video and audio will then be in two seperate files when ripped.

  4. Thanks, I know that VOB=MPEG but I cannot edit them if I just change the extension.

I just want ONE Mpeg file (with sound and extension).

  5. 2 solutions:
[1] Use a program like TMPGenc. Do FILE -> TOOLS -> SIMPLE DEMULTIPLEX, type *.vob, then choose your big VOB file. Demux to ac3 + m2v. The use BeSweet to convert the ac3 to mp2 track, and finally use TMPGenc and do FILE -> TOOLS -> SIMPLE MULTIPLEX and choose MPEG-2 VBR and re-mux the mp2 and m2v file to get an editable mpg file.

[2] (Simpler) Use Womble Mpeg VCR and choose TOOLS -> FORMAT CONVERSION and enter the name of the VOB file, then choose ALL (video + audio) and select then output name, then SAVE, then CONVERT. You'll get a file name (whatever).mpg that you can now edit with a program like Womble Mpeg VCR or M2 Edit Pro.

Wouldn't it be simpler with MPEG2VCR to just edit the VOB
    and save as a MPEG2 ?
