I have been reading LOTS about problems with recorded discs on this machine not playing in other DVD Players. I just bought one the other day and I'm considering exchanging it for the Toshiba D2. Anyone have any advice...as I'm not really sure what to do.

    Thanks!

  2. From what I've read from various sources prior to buying my E55 a lot of issues seems to be down to either the media or not properly finalising the discs first.

I suggest as you already have one just make a recording or 2 & try it in as many machines as you can before deciding.

Here in the UK the E55 has been described as the best machine you can buy for the money in one mag. And no real compatability issues have really been reported from what I recall in 2 weeks of research.

  3. Try using better media, say Accus or if you're rich, Panasonics.

Change the record method from AUTO to Fixed if you want more compatiblity but mine play in anything I use & its set to AUTO.
