VideoStudio/DVD MovieFactory Won't Recognize DVD Burner

Hi.

My Ulead VideoStudio7 and DVD MovieFactory 2 softwares no longer recognize my DVD burner, NEC1100. They no longer provide me with the option to burn to disc (CD or DVD) directly though I can still use Nero Express (CD or DVD) or DVD Decrypter to burn the output image file/VIDEO_TS folder.

Other than reinstalling both softwares, is there anything I can do (edit the registry, replace missing dll, etc) to get them to recognize my burner?

could it be the writer's driver?
if not try those apps own forums and/or tech support - they will definitley know what to tweak to get your stufff workin again....

Thanks tkamin for the advise. But after reinstalling the softwares, I once again have the option to burn directly to disc.
