  1. I finally got my system set up and have been buring with good results. I'm using DVD Shrink & Nero with my Sony DRU500A orig f/ware. Yes, it does take over 1hr from start to finish but everything works.

My question is: Should I upgrade the firmware and hope or can I easily flash back if I encounter problems. I am currently using 2x media which is hard to come by.

    Look forward to comments.

Like Pete, I always use the latest firmware. This is the just a rule for me, be it drivers, or patches. If there is an update, that means a problem has been fixed.

Anyway, I doubt you should encounter any trouble with new firmware. However, new firmware, at least for my burner DISABLED DMA. Because of that, DVDRs took twice the time and came out bad. Don't get alarmed. Just re-enable it if that comes up.
