  1. When i insert the Sony Vegas 5 disk, nothing happens. So i go to Start>Run>Browse and i find the .exe file. I then try to open the file and i get the error "This Operating System does not support this Application."

How do i sort this out?

    1. Read the manual and see what OS'es Vegas supports.
    2. See what OS you're running.
    3. If the results of (2) are not supported by the results of (1), change your OS.

  3. Vegas 5 requires the microsoft .NET framework. It means you will have to have at least Windows 2000 (you will have to download the .NET stuff from Microsoft). The same goes for windows XP.
If it works, don't fix it.

Vegas will install this for you. It will prompt to install. Possibility that rankz is not logged in as Admin, or maybe anti virus needs to be turned off.

    @ rankz,
The profile (computer specs) is there for a reason. If you had filled it out, your problem could have been more accurately addressed.

  5. I'm actually running Vegas 4.0e. When I upgraded from 4.0c the .NET compatibility was added (I guess). It ran ok without it (.NET), but it was recommended to download .NET from Microsoft or Sony. Good idea to put it on the disk, saves a lot of time for a dial-up user.

I don't know what it's for, I guess I haven't used the feature that needs it, seems to work the same as before.
If it works, don't fix it.
