  1. Can anyone recomend a software package to convert vr format video that I made with my Sansui dvd recorder over to dvd format that can be copied using my pc?

    Hello,
    I don' believe you need to. Dvd uses vobs to store video. Pop the disc in and you should see a video_ts folder with several .vob files. Those are the video files. Use any ripper like dvddecryptor to copy them to your harddrive. Then you can use any program to manipulate them however you need to. Hope this helps.

    VR mode makes VRO files, not VOB.
    They're just MPEGs.

  5. The Ulead DVD Movie Factory has a trail verison and will import the VR files but has a limitation of the digital sound with the trial verison. Try it. I also have the Sansui recorder and have be able to use Sonic myDVD to import the VR files off of DVD-RW and then edit and burn home videos with menus. It didn't work until I was able to download the UDF reader from Sonic. Sonic support is not helpful, it's web/e-mail based and I didn't get any answer to my support questions. Your mileage may vary.
