I can't find the cabling answer i need..

I've bought a Daewoo T267 PAL VCR, and the only output that i can see is the coaxle. I'm in NTSC land.
My only capture option is with a composite (ATI 64mb ddr VIVO card).

Is there any adapter out there, that will alow me to transfer the coaxle to composite signal, or am i shit out of luck??

I have two composite cables for front use, but it seems that they're for input only!!

    Thanx...

I only see two options: Run the coax out into another VCR or into a tuner capture card. Both will degrade quality. If you bought it used, you could open it up and unplug the input to the TV modulator and use the inputs to that for composite video and sound out. (If it is a separate module.)

Unfortunately, the two different diameters of coaxle don't allow this..

Heck, i can't even pronounce modulator, but i'll give it a try. Sounds too good to be true..

    Thanx, appreciate the response...

I won't make you any promises, but it you take up the screwdriver... Open the case and look for a small silver box, about 2-3 inches in diameter. If you are lucky, it has a short RCA cable going into it. And hopefully an audio input which may be different. The modulator output will go to the coax jack on the back. If you can plug a RCA female end into the short cable then you can see if the output is composite by plugging it into your composite in on the computer (or the composite in on another VCR.) The audio will go into the modulator also. There should be both a power(DC voltage) input and an audio input wires. If you don't see the silver box and obvious cables, may be to hard to do much with. Good luck!

  5. Uhhh... you do know that there are modulator/converter boxes that will convert a coax cable input to an RCA type output. Hell, I just found one the other day at a thrift store for 2 bucks!
Look, let me explain something. I'm not Mr. Lebowski; you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. That, or Duder. His Dudeness. Or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing--

God, I hope you can prove me stupid..I phoned 4 different radio shacks, for such a thing, an none of them heard of this..

On a side note, i noticed that the PAL coaxle has a larger diameter male plug, than the NTSC female plug..
I'll keep pluging away..I'd rather keep this unit than put it back out on Ebay...

    Fingers crossed...

Are you really sure there is no SCART on that machine?
When I search for the specs it says:

    VCR T267
    2 x EURO-AV-SCART

So better take a good look again...

There's scart, which i was told was useless in NTSC land, but have come across http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/scartext.htm.
Forgive me, i've never even heard of this term..

    It's looking promising..
I'm phoning locally, but no PAL modulators..

    Fingers crossed..

Just get a SCART lead with standard composite/audio connectors.

Don't mess with modulators, It will degrade the picture quality and give too much problems. Not worth the trouble. A PAL modulator in NTSC land is also no fun I think....
