    Hi,

I am experimenting with Ulead MediaStudio 7 for the first time because Premiere is starting to annoy me and I had heard lots of good things.

Unfortunately, the one thing I need for my next project is the one thing I have been unable to find so far...

I need to create a slideshow, i.e. multiple pictures in a row with cross fades in between. When I insert pictures with a size other than the project dimensions, the aspect ratio of the picture gets lost and the picture distorted. I want the picture aspect ratio to stay the same and the picture to be stretched or shrunk to fit the project dimensions WITH a black frame around if necessary.

I found an aspect ratio setting in the Preferences, but reading on it showed that it is meant for previewing video.

The only way I found to change picture aspect ratio is to use the 2D Moving Path filter for each picture seperately and reset all the settings for the start and end frame of the path by hand...

Is there any way I can create what I am looking for ?

    Thanks for reading all this

    cu, Richard

    Problem solved!

For everyone else who may one day run across the same problem, someone in a Yahoo group for Media Studio gave me this answer:

In Project Settings, look for Perform non-square pixel rendering and activate it.

Hope this will be helpful to someone else one day, too.

  3. since you're experimenting with Ulead MSP, why don't you try Vegas 5 too?
