Did anybody else see this?
http://www.digitalfaq.com/uploads/baseballasshole.wmv
(WMV capture, few frames dropped because of lousy reception on that channel)
I was watching the game yesterday (Rangers vs Cardinals @ Ameriquest Stadium), watching baseball is another big hobby of mine, and this redneck twat knocks over a kid in the next row, digs under his mother's legs, and "catches" the foul ball that the mom was prepared to catch (you don't quite get to see that in the news clip).
The mom got up and chewed this guy out for several minutes. Waiving her arms. Good show! She was NOT going to let this go unnannounced. The game didn't even get coverage for most of an inning while this went on. The dugouts were more focuses on this too, more than anything else.
Good old Tom Grieve, former Ranger, former Ranger GM, and now KDFI 27 announcer went off on the guy. Called him a "jerk" and "loser" on the air. Then one of the KDFI sports reporters went over and interviewed him (reluctantly the guy cooperated). I've never heard the BOOS so loud in that field before, not even for A-Rod! Grieve said things like "I hope his girlfriend (or whoever) is proud of that guy!" Got all kinds of news coverage here. His response "I caught it. I'm not gonna be pressured by 40,000 people to give it away." SOB!
Some people! What a great big jerk.
If you know this guy, tell him he's a GREAT BIG JERK!
The kid got fans giving him balls (one fan tossed a ball from the stands into right field, causing a time-out even!), the Cards, the Rangers. Bats, balls, autographs. It was quite a sight. At least it took attention away from the huge lead St Louis had. To think the game was starting to get boring.

In short what a king sized twat. In Europe he might have needed
police protection to leave the ground. -
I've watched that clip about 5 times on sportscenter.
How about the kid's father just sitting thereEven if that guy wasn't the kid's father some other guy sitting around there should have done something.
Mr. Foul Ball best be happy it wasn't my wife and kid he dove into to get that ball. His face being a jerk on SC would have been the least of his problems. -

We are much more civilized, AS YOU CAN PLAINLY SEE by this shining example of Texas chivalry and manners !!! -

I personally am very disappointed in the Texas public, someone should have tuned this clown up. I'm sure someone would have paid the fine for him.
Showing him as an ******* on TV evidently didn't weigh very heavily on him because he kept the ball. Sometimes your actions carry consiquences...I wonder if he would have dropped that ball to catch all the teeth flying out of his mouth? Someone needed to rearrange this guy's priorities.
If I had been within a few rows of that activity there is no way I could have sat there and not have done something about it. Wrong is wrong...I've been kicked out of nicer places than The Ball Park at Arrlington for a lot less. -
What a wanker.

Following up on this, I must admit some fans have made quite asses of themselves in recent memory. They guys who attacked the Royals'
first base coach about two years ago. The Cub's fan that blew their chance for going to the World Series last year. The iceballs at Giants' Stadium a few years back. Now this guy. I know I'm leaving some out.... I don't know if I'm more embarrassed by the guy plowing into a 4 year old or the fact that nobody got out of their seat and jacked this guy in the face. Do they serve beer there? Even more shocking if so. I'd figure some pissed off drunk would take it as an invite to start a scrum....

that guy was me
i pressed assault & battery charges against the mother, she's in jail now awaiting a bond reduction hearing. -
what an ass.... all that for a $5 baseball?? He nearly knocks the kid into the row in front of him for a $5 ball? If that was my wife and kid, I'd be at blows with the guy.
My wife and I have season seats for a local professional hockey team a few rows behind the home teams bench. There's a puck a week that comes up in our vicinity and you know what? I've never seen anyone jump over seats and knock people over like that for a $5 puck... Hell, I've caught a few, but like the coach and team players, I look for a young kid around me that looks like they would enjoy the puck as a keepsake and give it to them. Kids love that and the parents always say thank you.
It's supposed to be a fun time for everyone.... obviously, manners missed this jackoff!
If that was his father sitting on the other side of that lady, then shame on him for not doing something about it. He shold have grown some balls and confonted that jerk for nearly injuring his child and wife for a lousy $5 ball!
Kudos to the team for giving the kid a bat and ball. He'll probably be a Ranger fan for life now because of the good experience. -

He was stupit now every one in that town will say crap at him. He ask for it. If I was him I would move some place far far away. It was nice of that other baseball player to sign a baseball bat.

And just that morning, St Louis management and players were complimenting how great a crowd the Arlington (DFW) fans were. Not more than 10 minutes before Capt Dickhead stole the fly from junior, it was the topic of the game (KDFI commentary from Grieve).
About the dad... the mom didn't give the husband (we're only assuming he's the dad, actually) a chance. She either wears the pants or is really self-reliant. That guy could have been an uncle or neighbor for all we know. Never heard anything on him.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
