I'm converting home videos to DivX for archival. I am very pleased with the quality at 320x240... I can even watch it full screen and the artifacts are acceptable at a distance. I would like to have a bit more quality though so I have the option of bringing archived video out of storage and dropping it on the timeline in Premiere. When I make a DivX at 720x480 the quality looks like it's going to be great, but I think my P3 450 can't keep up. Is this normal? Is 720 just too big for DivX still? I made a DivX from a DVD rip at 720 on my P3 800 at work and it works well on the 800... not well on my 450. Any experience anyone can share with this? A minimum processor for 720 DivX videos? Thanks in advance.
Jeremy
