I am trying this product out. I like some of the features. However I can not seem to find a way to add background music to a menu page, be it motion or not. Does anyone know if this can be done in this program or should I go with DVD lab?

If I go with DVD lab, does anyone know if the ac3 encoder plugin from TMPGEnc will work on its own or with DVD lab. The website makes it sound like you have to by DVD Author or TPMGEnc 3.0 to get ac3 to work.

  2. You have to make your menu background as a mpg video file. Your music should be included in the mpg file. Even if you want to use a still picture for background, you would have to make it into a mpg with music added. I use my video editing software to prepare the menu background with music.

So I came home to try out DVD Author and I have 1 movie with 4 chapter points to test this software with, when I creat a menu page I get all my chapter points plus the play button? I am used to using DVD complete which will creat a MAIN MENU page that has a play button or a button to a seperate page for chapter selection. The guide I am using is from afonic DVD guides and it does not explain how to creat a Main Menu. Can this be done with TMPGEnc author or is there a better guide I should be using. I really hate learning new software!!!

I haven't seen a guide for menu creation in TDA. I seem to recall Alfonics guide saying to experiment with the menus or something like that.

I think it's because there are so many variables.
