What avi codec works for TMPGEnc?

I have been capturing avi files via my camcorder and Ulead VS6. The resulting .avi's often produce stream reading errors in TMPGEnc. I read somewhere that this can be a conflict of codec used with TMPGEnc. from looking at the options in Ulead VS6, there are about a dozen codecs to choose from. Can someone tell me what codec TMPGEnc likes?

what are u using to capture? it might be a codec but is more likely what type of DV it is, there's a type 1 and type 2, i *think* tmpgenc is more compatable with type 2, but not sure, u might wanna check into that.
