I was in Sam's Club and saw 10pk of Verbatims 8x (made in Singapore). Who most likely makes them?

Yup, the Singapore-made ones are particularly good as they're made at a dedicated MCC plant.

They are MCC, even the box and CD case says MITSUBISHI Chemical Co. on the back.
Burned just fine, thou $1.60 is expensive for +R format. (8X)-----------------------------------------------------

Yes, $1.60 is a little pricey, but worth it for avoiding the agony of a bad burn. I am on my fifth spindle of Sinapore Verbatim 2.4x +R, and have not had a coaster yet. They burn well all the way to the edge of the disk.
I have become so confident with them that I no longer check the burn before deleting everything from the computer. Great disks! If it works, don't fix it.
