  1. One of the things I like about Nero is that it can burn to multiple recorders, however I no longer use Nero since the last version I trusted was 6 and that one does not work with Vista.

I have learned to love Burnnn for making audio cds from compressed audio files and Burnaware for Data cds and DVDs that need I want to keep as multi-session, and of course Imgburn for burning video DVDs and closed session data disks.

But none of this solved my need to burn the same files/iso to multiple disks using two burners until tonight when for giggles I started two instances of Imgburn and dropped the same iso onto them. Then I directed one instance to one burner and the other the to 2nd burner and lo-and-behold I got two perfect disks within 10 seconds of each other

I haven't tried this with Burnaware yet, but maybe I will tomorrow, this has been too much excitement for me for one night

    Imgburn is one fantastic program.

But I don't really think you should do two at once.

  6. I have donated.
I'm pretty good about paying/donating for privately developed software. Three's no reason in my mind why efforts that produce quality should not be supported.

As for the two at once burning, I don;t need to do it often but so far so good.

I advise against burning two at once, unless SATA for all hard drives and optical drives involved.

I burn multiple all the time, I have an AMD quad core running 4gig RAM on dual SATA DVD burners and twin SATA HDs. I have never had a miss yet with Imgburn.

ImgBurn also burns MP3, WAV (and I think even more) to audio CDs by the way.

Imgburn will definitely burn MP3 data discs and WAV audio discs.

The fact is that I used an antique version of Roxio for years to burn music discs, but began having trouble with it and couldn't find the same file to replace it with. Everything had been upgraded and didn't work as well.

So, I thought I'd give Imgburn a try for that. It worked like a charm and now it's the only burning engine I use for anything.

  11. So, imgburn will do the conversion of a compressed audio file to the .cda format (or whatever it's called) so the CD can play in a regular CD player? I never knew that. Will give it a try!

    Thanks.

    Des,
I don't think Imgburn will do the conversion.

I usually do that part in Adobe Audition anyway, so I've never tried. I didn't mean to mislead you in that regard. But, once the files are rendered to WAV format, Imgburn will create a CD cue file (fully customizable with artist name, album titles, etc.) and burn the files to disc.

Well, there you have it. It will do the conversion too.

    Excellent.

Just figuring that out eh 8)
You could open mutliple instances of DvdDecrypter (from) back in the day.

And yes you can burn diff. formats to music cd.

Under help, on ImgBurn, click "view Imgburn Guides" and it will open the page in your browser & the 4th guide down is,

How to burn an Audio CD from music files using ImgBurn
Supported files include Ape, Flac, Ogg, MP3, Wav and Wma
You just need to have the right filters/codecs installed.

    EDIT:

  16. No, you didn't mislead.

Burrrn will do the conversion from mp3 and flac (and other formats) to CD audio automatically and includes the file tags in the CD-Text space for the song.
It's simpler for my needs and creates a good CD.

    So will ImgBurn.
If you want to configure the 'PreGap' / 'CD-TEXT' options for your tracks, select each track in turn and change the settings until your heart is content!
Yes....even my favorite Prassi Ones is my preferred audio CD creator....but ImgBurn can do almost the same...and it's free.

  18. I think that many of us typed while being typed to.

I read the guide. So now imgburn is even more wonderful than before

I will give it a go.

    Thanks.

I tried ImgBurn once for an audio CD that consisted of MP3 and .wav files and it worked perfectly....but even I didn't know about the CDText and other stuff you can do with ImgBurn until I just read that guide. I'll have to give it another "go" as well....just to play.

I especially am appreciative of those features when I'm playing a disc in my truck. Artists and titles come right up on the display. That's slick. 8)

My impression (after reading a fair bit in wikipedia about both CD Text and Cue files) is that they are not the same. It seems that CD Text is mostly used by some hardware CD players - mainly those in cars, and that Cue files are mostly for software CD players.

    It took a plug-in: http://bmproductions.fixnum.org/index.htm?http://bmproductions.fi ... cdtext.htm

(BM-productions program: WMPCDText) for Microsoft Media Player to be able to show CD Text.

    Am I missing something?

I know I never thought they were the same. CDText is burned to the disc and cannot be erased or deleted.
