    Currently, to create an VCD I am doing the following:
    Create an AVI file using DVDx (DivX video, mp3 audio)
    Use TMPGEnc to create (S)VCD compatible mpeg files
    Burn the CDs using Nero. . . .

    Is this the best I can do?
    Should I other codecs instead of DivX and MP3 to create the AVI files?

  2. Certainly, either framserve DVDx to TMPGEnc/CCE, or open the VOBs in DVD2AVI, save the project and use GuardianKnot to make the avisynth framserver script (the method I use), that way your not losing the quality that comes with the AVI step, and saving a big hunk of time.

  3. Convert your avi or VOB files to MPEG2 or use a SVCD template with TMPGEnc. You really don't have to change any settings. Then follow this:
