  1. ok...i now i know wat is interlace video, here is my problem:

when i play the original captured dv video, the video plays nicely at 50 field per second, which is very smooth, but after i edit it or something, i output to avi full frames uncompress or any other format, the video will become interlace, as i know interlace is 2 fields sticking together, so when i play the output dv, the video is very jerky its only playing 25 fps per second.

but this doesn't happen when i play a dvd or avi downloaded from the internet. they are smooth. so how do i play a video with 50 fields per second on my pc?

by the way, i want to know after i output the original dv video to a interlace mpeg2, is the 50 fields still available or it is just 25fps without any field?

50 FIELDS per second is the equivelent of 25 FRAMES per second:

    ( 2 Fields = 1 Frame )

Your playing back your video at 25 frames per second, which is correct.

As to your interlacing issue, all DV video is interlaced, so you should expect it to play back as interlaced. Your video is probaly jumpy because your encoding the wrong field first. DV should always be bottom field first. If you get it wrong, your output will appear to 'jump', or 'jitter', especially on panning shots, or scenes with a lot of motion.
