  1. I'm a beginner and new to this forum, so please bear with me.

Using Vegas Video 4.0, I have compiled a full .avi video out of several .mov clips. I watched parts of the video on my PC and everything was working great, from transitions to image quality. I then used myDVD 4.0 to create the menu and burn to a DVD+RW. The process went smoothly there as well. Piece of cake.

When I viewed the final DVD on my PC with PowerDVD, everything turned out great. However, when I view the same DVD on my TV, the image is pretty bad. I'm not sure what the proper name for it is, but it looks like the image starts decomposing pixel by pixel, like somebody is shooting the squares in the image. In some frames, it gets so bad, the screen turns completely black for a few seconds, then comes back on. There is a crackling sound as well.

I don't know if it's the rendering process in Vegas Video or the burning process in myDVD, but I need help figuring out what needs to be done. Can somebody help?

It may be that your dvd player cannot handle the bit rate you encoded the disk at.

    Just a thought.

  3. Do you play the movie in your PC DVD-ROM (with a conection to TV) or regular DVD Player?

  4. Could also be your DVD player doesn't like that brand of DVD+RW. You could try a different brand and see if it helps.

I played the DVD on my PC's DVD-ROM and it played alright. When I played on my TV's DVD player, it caused the problems I mentioned earlier.
