I was looking around on the Japanese Google and I found this link http://www.google.co.jp/search?q=cache:nsdMsnPeEQg:www.ulead.com/aboutulead/pressprodu...ate+dvcd&hl=ja

Has anyone tried this or heard of it before?

  2. Who knows what it actually means...

From all the credible sources I read before, a "DVCD" is simply an ordinary VCD (i.e., fully VCD compliant source files) that has a longer playing time (e.g., up to 99 min) due to a stamping trick (i.e., putting the spiral on the stamped disc tighter).

Thus, you could make a "DVCD" or sorts by simply burning a VCD onto 90/99 min media.

  5. There have been posts before which linked to "DVCD". Those discs which are longer than than 99 minutes have compatibility problems in many players though work in some.

As far as I can tell, they are still ordinary VCD spec. MPEGs.

As for Bug's Life, that movie is definitely shorter than 120 minutes... closer to the vicinity of 90 minutes.
