  1. hi peeps. quick question. i just upgraded one pc to another, and had to transfer everything over to the next. however now i have encountered a problem. i used to d.load a file, then extract the bin with from winrar,(i would actually see a bin file). now i try to do the same thing, but can not see the bin file. why is this, and how do i go about fixing this? also whenever i try to play a file on windows media player, i notice that i cant forward or reverse, however if i try to slide the bar forward, i then get.......parameter incorect, it then closes windows media player.
this is frustrating, because i never had this problem before. how do i fix this one?
thanks for any help out there.

Well what do you see? Are you sure you have all the rars, and are you using a current version of WinRAR to extract?

You probably had a software DVD player installed like Power DVD, or at the very least a better mpeg-2 decoder than the one your new machine has. Ditch WMP and try Media Player Classic. It has a built mpeg-2 decoder. I stopped using WMP years ago.

  3. what i see is a -log file, which i then use isobuster on, and it does convert that into an mpeg file (which is what i want). but then i try to play, and i cant forward, and like i said, when i do try it gives me parameter incorect.
how do i get my bin image back? i am assuming that since i am not using isobuster on a bin image, but rather a -log file, that this is why this is happeneing (the parameter error that is).
    what next?

  4. ohh, and this also happens with real player, it just simply does not let me forward. i might have thought that my file was corrupt, but this is happening with more than one different file.
    thanks again!!

I think you might need to disable "Hide Extensions For Known File Types" in Control Panel>Folder Options>View. Real Player is another crap player and I'm not surprised it gives you the same problem. As I said, you had a different mpeg-2 decoder on your old system. Either install a new one or use Media Player Classic or a software DVD player instead.

I don't know if you're not reading my posts or if you just don't like my answers. Either way I'm done here. Good luck.
