  1. Hello. After I thought I got the hang of back-ups I ran into a quite annoying problem. I used DVD Shrink re-authoring part to just include the main movie. I made sure the audio settings were on the default, AC3 English ones. I previewed it and it played the movie and sounds just fine. After encoding, I tried playing the VOB files in my Power DVD program. They play just fine, nothing bad at all. I burned to dvd and put in my home dvd player. The video is fine, however, the dvd commentary is playing in the background. When this same dvd is played on my pc, I do not hear the dvd commentary. Is there way to make sure this doesnt happen? I don't know why I hear the commentary on my stand alone player but not my PC dvd-rom.

Have you tried clicking the audio button on your standalone remote? I have had movies that ended up with more than one audio track and I was able to select the other track. Better than re-encoding. But, you can preview the audio channels in Shrink to make sure you select the right one. Check the tutorials on the Shrink page.

  3. I got fed up with the "el cheapo" dvd player (a Emerson AV510 DVD/CD/MP3 player) and bought a Sony DVP-NS725P player. It reads all the discs I burn just fine where as the old one gives me weird errors(such as the dvd commentary issue I posted about).
