I think it has to do with either
    - your burning software
    - your cd writer hardware

I´ve been using Nero Burning ROM with a variety of no-brand media, and have always been able to get 800Mb (or pretty close) on all of them (the quality of playback varies with the media, but not the capacity). I use an HP 8200 CD Writer.

I understand, though, that Nero is pushing the envelope on the CD capacity...

    good luck.

  3. I have noticed when I cut a Mpg file with TMPEG, If I use NON-STANDARD or STANDARD,
Nero will see the file as totally two different size files. Up to 10 minutes in movie lenght.
but if you look at the size of the file, it is exacly the same.
I would like to find out why.
Note: Im talkin about VCD fomat here.

  4. If you created an SVCD BIN/Cue files, I highly suggest you do NOT use Nero to burn them, use CDRWin, FireBurner, BlindWrite, or the freeware CDRDao (TSCV has build-in support for it).

Don't know if the helps but I just burnt 760 meg onto a 700 meg CD using NTI CD-Maker and the overburn feature.

NTI now offers both VCD and SVCD compilation work well for me.

  7. aight i know what it is.....i was readin anotha post that was talkin bout a large vcd file and someone gave some advice to make sure it was a standard vcd mpeg and they advised to take the mpeg and demulitplex and then multiplex (not re-encode) as a standard vcd format with tpmg....so i tried this out with my svcd file....my regular svcd bin file properties were 746megs..84 mins......

after i demultiplex it and remultiplexed it with a format type mpeg svcd the properties were 746megs (same size as before) but the time was 73 mins...so now i can burn the 746 meg file on a 74 min cd.

thanx goes to whoever post i was reading..sorry i forgot who that was.....and thanx for all the other people with their suggestions
