Has anyone tried capturing SVCD (or XSVCD) quality MPEG 2 video with Ulead's DVD Movie Factory or Media Studio Pro 6? I'm using the ATI AIW Radeon, and am trying to find different capture software. My goal is greater than 480 X 480 Mpeg 2 or AVI capture with minimum frame drops.
I'd appreciate any feedback on your experience capturing with the Ulead products.
Thanks

I have been experimenting with capture methods - for me it seems logical to capture straight to what you want to end with - Mpeg2 for SVCD.
In practice however this does not seem that easy, I have tried to capture using MSP6.5 SVCD but get a lot of lost frames 20%+ not acceptable.
Even trying to capture AVI using MSP6.5 I get frame loss.
However using Virtualdub I get no lost frames capturing in AVI and then converting using either MSP6.5 or TMPGenc
Hope that helps. -
The key to capturing video at high resolutions and high bit rates with the ATI AIW is having a powerful computer. I have a 800MHZ Pent. III with a UDMA 66 hard drive and drop frames when attempting to capture mpeg2 above 320x240 using decent bitrate and quality(75). If my bitrate/quality are low enough I might have some success at 640/720x480-not a pretty picture though. So get yourself a Pentium 4 or Athlon XP-I hope to do so soon.
