    hello,i have made dozens of SVCD's,so i know a little,lol.
here is my problem: i captured a VHS movie using virtualdub,i used huffy.then i used TMPgn to encode it,ok i am using the software that came with my dvd burner, its pinnacle studio 8,i am using that to add titles/subtitles/effects,etc. i am also using the pinnacle to "burn" the dvd.after spending hours thru all this the burned dvd plays great on my PC(powerdvd) but when i want to view on the TV my home dvd player says"no disc"i have a Apex dvd player(plays all formats) the Apex played all the SVCD's i made, what am i doing wrong?,i am using pretty much the default settings in virualdub and TMPgn.i am thinking the pinnacle studio software is junk?,can someone point me in the right direction.thanx. 8)

  2. Use IMGTools Classic to make an ISO out of your VIDEO_TS folder. then burn the ISO with DVD Decryptor. If that one works then the problem is in the burn.

I dont use Pinnacle studio, but the fact that your disk plays back only in your writer sounds very much like the disk has not been finalised. Does pinnacle give you such an option?

It could be media. More often than not the reasons I have found for a disk not to work is:-

    1. Ignoring an error message during build or write.
    2. Poor/bad media.

    Good luck.
