  1. I was recently in a play and we filmed it. I now want to make a DVD (with full menus) of the play that includes subtitles and an audio commentary track. However I have no idea where to start. Can someone point out a few tutorials for me to help me with this endeavor? Thanks

What did you use to film your play? DV camera, DVD camera, VHS, hi-8?

  3. DV. I know how to transfer the video to my HD. What I need help with is the DVD creation and "special features" I also want to add a "photo gallery" to it, where the viewer can scroll thru pics, taken during the run of the show.

You need an authoring tool, and to spend some time learning how to use it. They range from the simple, to the complex, depending on your needs. Yours are more than most simple tools provide, however you are probably not experienced enough for the tools that will.

Once you have movie on your drive, you may have to edit and create Mpeg2 DVD compliant file.
After that you can use DVD authoring software to produce DVD and burn.
Some simple software will let you do simple cuts conversion, production of menus and burn, but since you need subtitles, second audio track, pictures, none of those will do.
Only one I know for what you want and for reasonable price is DVD Lab Pro.
For that you will have to import DVD compliant file using TMPGEnc Xpress or other apps.
To make audio commentary track, you can record it as you play the movie and than import to authoring software as second track.
I do not know there is a simple tutorial to cover all this, you just have to learn
