My uncle recently made a dvd that has several movies but no real menu. when u put in the dvd, my dvd player lets u pick which movie/file to play from a list not an actual menu. i was wondering how do u do this. ive been trying everything dvdlab pro, spruce up, mastero. i dunno if he burnt it on dvd+r or dvd-r but i would like to do that instead of spending 40-50 mins making menus for 2 svcds i encoded. Any help Please? Thanks

  2. If i'm correct, what you want is a mini-menu that's not at all fancy but just so you have the option to select which movie you wanna watch....right??

Well...what i did was use the program call TmpgencDVDauthor....It will actually make a menu for you tho cheap it's useful when you just need a menu to select which film to watch.....

yes ill take a "mini menu" but what i was looking for was a list generated by dvdplayer, but ill try urs. i have that but dont use it much because it seems like it really restricts the user. thankz

What did your uncle use ?
If it was several movies it was more than likely Mpeg1 videos Authored with something like TMPGenc DVD Author.
A DVD player doesn't generate a list , it displays a menu off the disc , surely.

Some players can play raw MPEG files
They just display the file list as a menu.
Nothing special is done to the files - no authoring

but i dont think it was a menu from the disc because it used the same font and colors that my dvd player uses to show info it even changed when i picked different color. i dont think it was a raw video file because i have an cyberhome 500, which doesnt support (only 300 model does).

If that is so, then Foo's answer seems most probable. I have an Apex that will show a file list of raw MPEGs and allow selection.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

yeah my dvd player does it. its just the dvd navigation that pops up. it really depends on the dvd player. i dont think alot of dvd players play raw dvd mpeg iso's, some play cd mpeg iso's.
