Problems Copying 2 Movies on 1 DVD with a menu!

Hi plz move this to where i am suppose to post it. Thank you.

I have these 2 movies. I want them on 1 dvd. My problem is this. as AVI's one movie is 627mb and the other is 547mb. when i use nerovision express 6, choose the make dvd option... it says that the movies are over 7gb without even making the menu! so it wont fit on my dvd.

BUT when i convert the AVI's to DVD's with winavi myself... one folder is 2.88gb and the other is 1.78gb (4.66 TOTAL)

with nerovision i can make a menu but the movies wont fit. with nero smart i can download the two but theres no menu.

i also downloaded dvdshrink 3.2 today although i cant or dont know how to make a menu in that!

could you please help me! my hardrive is jam packed!!! i need to get these movies on dvd's.
I'm a novice so please explain in steps PLEEEEEEEEEEASE!

Many recent DVD players can play AVI files as-is.

Copy them to a DVD as a DATA disc. (Or if you have one on a CD, that should work as well.) See what your player makes of them.

(Useful to have one or two DVDRWs for experiments like this.)

Otherwise, ConvertXToDVD is pretty easy to use.

There's a free version (DivXtoDVD), as well as a pay one with more features.

You can select several AVI files at once; it will create a single VIDEO_TS folder you can burn to DVD. No menu, bu you can navigate by "next" etc.
