  1. Is anyone else having problems editing clips captured with the ConvertX in VirtualDub?

When I try to edit the footage using VirtualDub (tried MPEG-2 and Divx 5.1.1), the image gets corrupted after playing for a few seconds and I can't do anything. For an example, see screenshot at: http://www.jcdenton40.com/untitled.JPG

I can edit DivX footage fine which was captured with my old TV Tuner card and encoded into DivX. Only the footage captured with the ConvertX is having this problem.

By the way I am using the latest 5.1.1 DivX Codec and the latest PX-M402U drivers.

Are you using driver 1005 (the latest)? They fixed Divx issue in this driver.

  3. Man, I didn't realize they released a new driver just a couple days ago! I'll try it this evening and see if I'm still having the problem. Thanks.

The free Divx player and UV7 playback your divx fine.
If you still want to use VirtDubMod to playback, you can edit the divx and save to avi as compressed divx or uncompressed. It Should playback fine afterwards.

  6. FYI: I heard from Plextor support and they said this (and several other issues) are fixed in an upcoming patch to be released early May. They might have a beta out in the next week or two.

I read this from divx forum.

Plextor technical support is superb. They are updating their drivers frequently and willing to get input from the costumers. No. I do not work for Plextor.

Btw, Virtualdub is the only application that has problem playing Convertx divx files. I tried your file with other divx players. They play it fine no garbled screen when pressing stop.

What you could do while waiting for Plextor to fix this incompatibility problem is go on and edit the divx file with Virtualdub and save it, Virtualdub will make divx file compatible with itself afterwards. After that Virtualdub will not show garbled screen when pressing stop.

    Cheers.
