  1. Goal: To create my own concert mix music dvd's by ripping certain songs from different dvd's & then author with TMPGENC Dvd Author.

Have tried both Smartripper & Dvd Decrypter to rip the individual chapters. I then follow this guide: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/120021.php using Vobedit & Ifoedit.

I have 6 songs (chapters) from two different dvd's I ripped from. Following the instructions from the guide I ended up with 4 vob files with a total of 30 chapters.

When opening the VIDEO_TS folder with DVD Author I get messages regarding incorrect GOPs.

    I have 6 songs > I would like 6 chapters!

What am I missing? Is it settings in Smartripper or Dvd Decrypter? ( uncheck cells?)
Or do I need to use different settings in Vobedit &/or Ifoedit?
I did change in Ifoedit to "create chapter for 1st cell only for each PGC" which then resulted in 1 chapter instead of 30. Dvd Author complained again about incorrect Gop's.

    Any help will be appreciated!!

    Thank's.

Do the ripped chapters play O.K. on your computer. Just open each chapter in TMPEG DVD Author. It will author each files as a chapter. No need to use any other program.

  3. Each of the 6 files play fine on the computer. Same "Video GOP is too long" message when opening with TMPGENC DVD Author. Also Dvd Author shows "no audio". When ripping do I need to rip only one audio file?

In DVD Decrypter, go to Mode > File. Tools > Settings. On the File Mode tab, set File Splitting to By Cell ID. On the Stream Processing Tab, put a * in the demux text box. This will demux each and every chapter into Elementary streams (1 video and 1 or possibly multiple audio files for each chapter). Delete the ones you don't want and proceed to TMPGEnc DVD Author.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  5. DVD Author: the "no audio" problem is because it doesn't recognize the AC3 audio. Does anybody know if the TMPGENC DVD Author AC3 plugin will allow me to end up with AC3 5.1 channel or strictly 2 channel files?
