  1. Hi All, I'm very new to ripping DVD's so please go easy on me!

I'm trying to rip a couple of episodes of Friends off my DVD. I tried using DVD decrypter to extract the whole dvd contents but I found that episodes span over multiple vob files. So I was looking around and found the feature in DVD Decrypter to set the mode to IFO. This gives me a list of episodes that I can then save to my pc. I did this all fine with one of the episodes and it saved about a 1gb file. I renamed the vob file to mpg and tried to play it, all the video was there, but only some of the sounds. I only got the laughter and music bits that are added over, no voice. Does anyone know how to get the voice onto the same video? I looked in Stream processing and it says there is only 1 Audio part (I think?) 0x80?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Luke

Try Using StaxRip or something similar to convert the video to another format. Usually VOB files are split to 1GB apiece, but you can also try using RipIt4Me (with DVDShrink) to split them up. Thats what I do, then I use StaxRip to create XviD files.

And therein lies the problem, you generally can't do that. Use a tool like VOB2MPG or find a tool that can play the VOB directly like MPCHC.
    Have a good one,

If all of the other episodes are about the same size as each other....but different from the problem one...that is most likely a copy protection issue since DVDDecrypter cannot handle newer discs' copy protections. DVDDecrypter ceased to exist YEARS ago.
