  1. The reason I ask is I'm in a PAL country, but I can only get programs like Virtual VCR, WinDVD Recorder, VirtualDub to display my PAL videos in NTSC (making them unwatchable). All these programs don't allow me to change to PAL. I noticed the box of the video card says "Made in Taiwan", and are concerned the video card is an import. Does anyone know if Taiwan is NTSC or PAL and if so would this be the reason I cannot figure out how to display PAL? Or would the video card display both PAL and NTSC. Every video I have is PAL, and television in Australia is also PAL - so would this mean the capture part of my video card is now useless to me? Cheers.

Taiwan is an NTSC region. WinDVD Recorder will allow you to change system under "video", "preferred TV system" if your TV/Capture card can support both systems. Some capture cards/devices only support one system. If you see "preferred TV system" option greyed out and set to NTSC most likely your card is an NTSC.

  3. Thanks man, yeah it is greyed out.

Those bastards! I think I'll be taking back my Video Card to get a refund. They could've at least mentioned it was NTSC, or an import. I bought it from a computer shop in Australia, so I assumed they would at least sell products that Australians can use properly (ie video cards that support PAL capturing).

Cheers once again man, you've been a big help.
