    Hello,
I know this is probably a stupid question, but how do you transfer videos (in any format) from your computer to VHS? My capture program does not have an output option. I'm sure the answer is simple, but I've been playing around for a while, and the only thing I could come up with was actually recording from the physical DVD / VCD to VHS (not directly from the computer). Thanks for the help!

All you would need is TV Out on your graphics card.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Thanks for the reply,
I do have this, but what software can I use to output the video? Is the entire computer screen simply outputted? If so, wouldn't this be an easy way to over-ride macrovision or other copyright protection?

Yes but you need to set it up. Depends on your graphic card. The settings should be in the Desktop properties.

Well, yes and no. Software players, unless hacked, will respect the protection (or at least they should).

All I would do is play the video in Windows Media Player. You would want a pretty high quality source though. The direct DVD - VHS option is probably the better option in terms of quality anyway because DVDs and VCDs always look worse on your computer.
    If in doubt, Google it.

A computer won't output macrovision, a flag in the video causes DVD players to do that.

Thanks for the help guys.. I've been away from the computer I have to try this, so I'll be able to test it out tonight. As far as the DirectDVD, it says it can only be used with DVDs inserted into the drive. I'm trying to copy from computer -> VHS without burning the DVD, which is where my trouble came in. Regardless, thanks again for the suggestions / help. I appreciate it!
