  1. Hi all.

    A friend of mine is having audio sync problems when making DVDs using Ulead DVD Movie Factory. According to him the capturing to mpeg is fine as the audio and video is syncing well when he plays the mpegs on Windows Media Player but when burning to DVD the audio is out of sync by quite a number of frames.

    Just wondering if anyone here has had same/similar problems like this using Ulead DVD Movie Factory or when burning to DVD in general?

    Cheers

  2. Is your friend using an analog capture board to capture his video?

    If frames are being dropped during capture, then that could explain why the loss of video/audio synchronization would not be evident until after the multiplexing stage.

  3. I have the same problems with Ulead Dvd movie factory... Except I'm authoring a vcd dvd, and I have two vcds on there, and they work fine,with motion menus and background music. Love everything about it, but about 30minutes into the movie it goes out of synch, and doesn't really return fromit. The thing is I don't think the video on this one was reencoded at all, bt the other movie gets encoded by moviefacotry, it also multiplex both of them. so i think if i sampled the audio to 448100 and patched the header that it would work much better. Anyone have any suggestions?

  4. VCD material features audio sampled at 44khz.

    I would suggest that this audio be converted to 48khz prior to insertion into a Ulead DVD MovieFactory DVD project.

  6. What happens when you change the extension to .MPA?

    Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3.0 Disc Creator version should be able to accept...

    1. .WAV;

    2. .MPA;

    3. .MP3;

    4. .AC3;

    5. .CDA;

    6. .WMA

    There's a tool called BeSweet that can be used to convert audio file from format to format:

  7. I have the same problem with this software.
    the strange thing is that, even if I use a compliant stream (i use tmpgenc dvd template) moviefactory remuxes everything anyway.
    I'm looking for something better, maybe tmpgenc dvd author.

    I had audio sync issues with MovieFactory.

    I captured with ADVC-100; the resultant .avi was in sync.

    I encoded with TMPGEnc Plus; the resultant .mpg was in sync.

    I authored with MovieFactory; the resultant DVD was NOT in sync.

    I got TMPGEnc DVD Author and no more sync issues.

    Problem solved.

  10. Hi Everyone, total newbie to the forum. I am also using Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3. I am recording shows using the Compro PVR Gold Plus. I am recording at DVD settings 48Khz audio 720 video size. It records great no audio sync problems. However when I try to burn to a DVD the audio sync problems occur. I have used all sorts of applications to correct this problem. I have used TmpGenc Plus to seperate the audio/video and then burned it that way , but the same audio problem persits. I also used TmpGenc DVD Author to burn and edit the mpegs but this also does not seem to work. I have even tried to just burn the mpeg directly ( TmpGenc DVD Author/Ulead DVD Movie Facotyr 3 also) but I also get the same audio sync problems. I am at my wits end I have tried everything I could find on this forum and others. Any help would be great. I am using a Windows XP Home AMD 2800+ 2.053 Ghz 512 memory 120 Gig hard Drive.
    Thanks mnh72

    I'm having the same problems with Studio 9.0.2. Everything renders fine as a AVI or MPEG2 file with no sync problems. Burning to DVD causes audio to go out of sync.
    I've seen other posts that take the approach of using Studio 9.0 to make the movie but some other program to burn the movie. I'm going to experiment along those lines and see if I have better luck.

    I am having this exact same problem, with both ulead and tmpgenc dvd author, using a hauppauge pvr 250 to capture dvd compliant mpeg's. I have tried putting the files directly into both programs, authored the dvd's, and burned, but the dvd's always come out with audio synch issues. And the captured files play fine in any media player with no synch issues, so it's definitely the authoring/burning process that screws it up. I had hoped that changing from ulead to tmpgenc dvd author would solve the problem, but it didn't.

    I think that the problem is caused by creating chapter breaks at invalid parts of the video. This is because the dvd's always seem to play fine until after a specific chapter break (not the same for each dvd, but it's always after a chapter break). My next step is to simply try authoring a dvd with no chapter breaks and see what happens. If there's no problems there, then I don't really know what to do to be able to author dvd's with chapters.

    Anyone have suggestions for this? I thought that at least tmpgenc dvd author forced chapters to be made at valid spots in the mpeg, but maybe not. If not, how can I be sure I've set the chapters up at valid positions before starting the authoring?

    Concerning your comments on Chapter Breaks. At the Studio 9.0 support site for OOS issues, they recommend creating a version without Chapters as an AVI file. Start a new project with that AVI file and then add chapters. Now try to burn.
    Perhaps you should the same thing with Ulead?
    A thought.

    Concerning my problem with Studio 9.0 and OOS. I upgraded to version 9.0.8 and this fixed the problem. I was able to burn three DVD platters last night with no OOS issues.
    This really turned out to be operator error. I thought I had upgraded to 9.0.8 some weeks before. But in the frenzy of editing, I had only downloaded the patch but not installed.
